Jeremy Kalal

Jeremy Kalal was offered, and has accepted, the Head Adapted Floor Hockey & Head Adapted Softball coaching positions (pending board approval) at New Prague High School.  Coach Kalal will be replacing Shellie Kriha who has been the head coach of both sports since the inception of Adapted Softball (2004) & Adapted Floor Hockey (2006) for the Trojans.  The Trojan Adapted Sports programs are cooperatively sponsored-programs between Belle Plaine, Jordan, Tri-City United, & New Prague.  The 2023-2024 season will be Jeremy's 1st season as the Head Coach for our Adapted programs.

Jeremy was born and raised in Jordan, MN where he attended high school and participated in many sports throughout his high school career. After high school Jeremy attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls to obtain his teaching license in middle school science.  Jeremy has been teaching Middle School Science in New Prague since the 2005-06 school year.

Jeremy has coached many different sports throughout his years including Soccer, Baseball, Softball, and Floor Hockey. He has also been the Middle School student council supervisor for the past 15 years and co-coordinator of the annual Middle School student trip since its inception.

Jeremy has been the adapted Floor Hockey Assistant Coach for the past 12 years, helping the team to 2 state titles and most recently a 2nd place finish in 2023. He also brings over 14 years of softball coaching experience into the adapted softball program. Jeremy has coached softball from youth levels to the head varsity softball coach in Belle Plaine for many years.  Most recently, he was the JV Softball coach last season in New Prague.

Jeremy is very excited to take over both programs and will be working tirelessly to continue the successes of the New Prague Adapted sports programs.  He wants to continue to build the respect for these programs that outgoing coach, Shellie Kriha, has established throughout her years in this position.
