Doug Amundsen

Head Coach - NPHS Gymnastics

The 2015-2016 Season will be the 22nd season that Doug Amundsen will be coaching the Trojan Gymnastics team.  Doug had served as an assistant coach for 18 years and became the interim head coach in December - 2012 and guided the girls to the 2013 Class A MSHSL Championship.  At the conclusion of the season, Coach Amundsen was named the full-time Head Coach of the Trojans.

Doug is a 1984 graduate of Jefferson High School in Alexandria, MN and earned a B.S. in K-12 Physical Education and Coaching from Moorhead State University.  He has been a New Prague resident since 1990.  Doug and his wife, Mary, have two children - Molly and Connor.  Molly is a senior at the University of Minnesota and Connor is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

Mark Morphew

Asst. Coach - NPHS Gymnastics

The 2015-2016 Season will be Mark's 1st year on the New Prague High School Gymnastics coaching staff.  Mark is an incredible motivator, spotter and coach.  He fits in great with the current staff and New Prague High School is excited to have him as part of the staff.

Mark has been coaching and working with gymnastics teams for 10 years.  he started in Worthington, MN in high school.  His freshman year of college, he was the assistant coach for Worthington High School and also worked with their community education classes.  He then moved to Mankato and spent 8 years coaching at MAGS and then K&G Gymnastics working with classes and their teams.  He also coached the Mankato West Scarlets either as an assistant, co-head coach, or head coach for the entire time he lived in Mankato.  

Mark earned a B.S. in History from MSU-Mankato and he currently resides in New Prague. 

Ann Niedermayer

Asst. Coach - NPHS Gymnastics

Coach Ann Niedermayer is excited for her 4th year as a Gymnastics coach for the Trojans.  Ann began coaching gymnastics in 2006 at Gleason's Gymnastics in Eagan coaching recreational classes and continued at Dynamics Gymnastics in Burnsville.  Ann began working with New Prague Gymnastics in 2010.  She competed in both gymnastics and diving growing up in Connecticut and North Carolina.  She also competed in collegiate diving for Syracuse University where she earned a BFA in photography and graphic design.  She also worked with the Junior Olympic diving team in Syracuse.  Recently, Ann earned her Nursing degreee from Rasmussen College in Mankato and is currently a licensed RN.

Ann moved to New Prague in 1994 with her husband, Ray.  She is a local photographer and has run a studio in New Prague since 1998.  Ray and Ann have 4 children.  Twins, Jessica and Jaimie, are now freshmen at Gustavus Adolphus College and are alumni gymnasts of the New Prague High School team.  Their third daughter, Liza, attends Augustana in Rock Island - IL, and son, Tucker, is a sophomore at New Prague High School.
