New Prague High School Activities

The 2023-24 season will be Darrell Christenson's 3rd year as the Head Gymnastics Coach at New Prague High School.  Darrell is a 2004 graduate of New Prague High School and served as the Gymnastics program Team Manager under the direction of NPHS Hall-of-Fame Coach, Matt Shetka.  The US Marine Corp veteran was also involved in Football and Track at New Prague High School.  As a Gymnastics Manager at New Prague High School, he was also able to work alongside current Club Director, former NPHS Head Coach, and current NPHS Assistant Coach - Doug Amundsen.  Darrell looks forward to working with Doug again during the 2023-24 Gymnastics season.

Darrell competed as a gymnast for 15 years with the Faribault Gymnastics Club and ended his Gymnastics career at age 18 as a level 8 gymnast.  Since this time, he has been coaching Gymnastics for almost 19 years at the Faribault Club as he started with beginner level classes at the age of 15.  He then moved up to coach at the Competition Team level and the High School level as well.

Darrell and his wife, Alisha, have been married since 2014 and reside in New Prague with their 4 children - Ashton (18), Mason (16), Ellie (15), and Charlotte (6).
