New Prague High School Activities

Coach Oakes is entering his 1st season as the head coach of the Trojan Baseball Program.  Oakes has spent the last 3 seasons as a varsity assistant coach.  He is a 2011 graduate of Jordan High School, and then went on to attend Augsburg College.  Oakes served as a captain of the baseball team during his time there and graduated in 2015 with a degree in special education.  Oakes is currently in his 3rd year as a special education teacher at New Prague Middle School and is currently working on his master's degree.  Oakes currently resides in New Prague with his wife, Hannah, who is also a special education teacher in the New Prague School District.  In his free time, Oakes enjoys spending time with his family and enjoying the outdoors.

Coach Plaisance is in his 22nd year teaching Industrial Technology at New Prague High School.  This season Coach Plaisance will be our Associate Head Coach at the Varsity level.  He is also a Defensive Coordinator for the Trojan Football team. During the winter he assists in the Trojan Strength and Conditioning program.  In his spare time he likes to be with his family, work in his wood shop and read.  Coach Plaisance resides in New Prague with his wife Cheryl and children Beau and Peyton.

Coach Seymour will be entering his first year coaching varsity baseball at New Prague High School.  Prior baseball coaching experience was gained as a youth coach in the New Prague Baseball Association from 10U to 15AAA.  In addition, Coach Seymour is a physical education/health instructor at NPHS and a varsity football coach with over 20 years of experience.  His hobbies include watching and playing sports, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  Coach Seymour and his family - Meg (wife) and children Carter, Kate, and Willie reside in New Prague, MN.

Nick Schoenecker is a 2002 graduate of New Prague High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Minnesota, Morris. He played defensive line for both the Trojans and the Cougars. He taught and coached in International Falls from 2007-2014 then began teaching and coaching in New Prague. Nick teaches Social Studies at the High School. Nick coaches baseball and football and enjoys hunting, fishing and golf.

Bryan Lindner is originally from Eden Prairie, MN where he graduated from Eden Prairie High School in 2005. After high school, Lindner studied at both North Dakota State University and Gustavus Adolphus College. He graduated from the Gustavus in 2009 with a degree in Social Studies Education along with minors in Coaching and History. Following college, Lindner has taught in the Eden Prairie, Shakopee, Hastings, and now, New Prague school districts. He is now in his sixth year as a middle school social studies teacher at NPMS. Lindner’s baseball background includes playing for state championship teams at Eden Prairie as well as coaching for Eden Prairie, Hastings, and New Prague. In the summer, Lindner is usually found on a lake or doing something active.

Nick is a Social Studies Teacher at New Prague High School. He has been teaching and coaching in New Prague since 2008. Coach Bowe is a 2002 graduate of Austin High School where he played baseball and hockey for the Packers. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2006 and also completed a Master’s degree through Southwest Minnesota State University in 2012. Nick lives in New Prague with his wife Kristen and daughter Zoey.

Aaron Shetka is in his third year teaching in New Prague. He was in Prior Lake for four years prior to coming to New Prague. Shetka teaches 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies at the Middle School. Shetka grew up in New Prague and played for the Trojans in high school.  He attended Minnesota State University, Mankato for his undergrad and got his Masters degree from Concordia, St. Paul.  Aaron, his wife Danielle, and their 1 year old daughter Grace currently reside in New Prague. Coach Shetka also coaches football and wrestling for the Trojans.
