New Prague High School Activities

The 2015-2016 season will be Coach Ron Gunderson's 40th season serving as the Trojans Girls' Basketball coach.  During this time, Coach Gunderson has amassed a career record of 654-293 during his tenure that includes 12 Conference Championships; 9 Section Championships; and 1 MSHSL Class AAA Championship in 2000.  Coach Gunderson has coached numerous players that have continued their playing career at the collegiate level in all divisions of basketball. 

Coach Gunderson is a graduate of Minnetonka High School and Mankato State College.  He is a science teacher at New Prague Middle School and resides in New Prague with his wife, Joan.  The couple has 2 adult children:  Matt & Elizabeth.

Coach Tschimperle will be entering his 35th year coaching at New Prague during the 2014-2015 season. He is currently a coach for eighth grade baseball and JV girls basketball. He is a native of Chaska, MN and graduated from Chaska High School is 1976 and from the University of Minnesota in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree and coaching. Tschimperle has been teaching in the New Prague district since 1980, and has been a math and phy ed teacher at St.Wenceslaus since 1985.

A New Prague resident since 1980, he married Margaret (Pomije) and they have two sons: Matthew - 28 and Ryan - 25.

Coach Biermaier joined the Trojans Girls Basketball staff during the 2011-2012 season as a 9th grade basketball coach.  The 2015-2016 season will be Coach Biermaier's third as the B-Squad coach.  Biermaier has coached basketball for the past ten years.  He spent four years as a middle school boys basketball coach in New Prague, two years as the Girls Varsity Head Coach in LeCenter, two seasons as the 9th grade girls coach in New Prague, followed by past two seasons as the B-Squad girls coach with the Trojans.

Biermaier is in his 11th year of teaching social studies at New Prague Middle School.  He resides in New Prague with his wife Sarah, their son Matthew (3), and newborn daughter Anne.

Coach Wagner will be entering her 3rd season as a 9th grade girls coach at New Prague High School.  She is a recent graduate of St. Cloud State University and is returning home to coach at her former high school.  At St. Cloud State, Amanda was a four-year starter for the Huskies and a member of the NSIC All-Defensive team.  She also led them to the NSIC North Division Championship during her senior (2012-2013) season. 

At New Prague High School, Wagner was a three-time Missota Conference All-Conference player as a guard and helped her team to three Missota Conference titles and three MSHSL Tournament appearances during her high school career.  Her senior season ended with the Trojans taking 3rd place in AAA.

The 2015-2016 season will be Coach Strop's 1st season as a member of the Trojan Girls Basketball staff.  She also works in the New Prague Area Schools district as a RTI Specialist at Eagle View Elementary in Elko-New Market.

Hannah was a 2010 graduate of New Prague High School where she was a member of 3 MSHSL Tournament teams.  Her junior year, 2009, the Trojans placed 3rd in Class AAA.  She tallied over 1000 points in her high school career.  Hannah then went on to play all 4 years at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD.
