Matt Anderson has been offered and has accepted the Head Girls Soccer Coach position at New Prague High School for the 2017 season pending board approval. Anderson grew up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota where he graduated from Eden Prairie High School. At EPHS, Anderson played four years of soccer for the Eagles on conference and section teams. After high school, Anderson went on to study Social Science and Education at Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He played soccer for the Johnnies as a goalkeeper for four years. Anderson graduated from SJU with a degree in Social Science and a Secondary Education minor.
After graduating from SJU, Anderson taught at Rosemount Middle School in Rosemount, MN for two years where he coached Boys Soccer and Boys and girls track. This fall he will be in his fifth year teaching 8th Grade Social Studies at NPMS. Anderson spent one year coaching girls soccer at NPMS and for the last three years, he has been a varsity assistant in the Girls Soccer program at NPHS. In addition to teaching social studies and coaching soccer, Anderson has spent the last four seasons as an assistant Track and Field coach for the Trojans where he works with boys and girls horizontal jumpers and hurdlers. Anderson and his wife Lindsay reside in Eden Prairie with their daughter Julia (4).
New Prague High School has announced the hiring of Bryce Tesdahl as their new .5 Assistant Activities Director (pending board approval). Prior to accepting this new position, Tesdahl has been a health/physical education teacher and Head Boys Basketball coach the past two seasons at New Prague. Over the last two seasons as the Head Boys Basketball Coach, Tesdahl has led the Trojans to a 43-13 record and back-to-back Wright County East Conference Championships. Tesdahl plans to promote Trojan activities and athletics at the high level possible moving forward. Tesdahl stated, “I look forward to working with New Prague Activities Director, Brad Skogerboe, to ensure all NP athletic/fine arts programs, and student-athletes, are enjoying the best opportunity possible in, and out, of competition”.
Taylor Ries was offered, and accepted, the Head Girls Hockey coaching position for the 2017-2018 season pending school board approval. Taylor is a graduate of Mankato East High School. During high school he was a 4 year letterwinner in hockey and received All State Honorable Mention and All Conference honors his senior year. He also played 2 years of varsity baseball where he received All Conference Honorable Mention honors.
Taylor attended Gustavus Adolphus College and then Minnesota State University, Mankato where he received a degree in Health and Physical Education. Upon transferring to Minnesota State after his freshman year, he began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach for the Mankato East Girls hockey team. Taylor worked under head coach Nate Fuller who started his girls hockey coaching career in New Prague as an Assistant from 2004-2006. Team accomplishments during Taylor’s time at Mankato East include a section championship (2016-17), a conference championship (2012-13), and two-time section runner-ups (2012-13, 2013-14). Personal accolades during that time include being named Section Assistant Coach of the Year twice during his 6 years of coaching at Mankato East.
Taylor is currently finishing up his first year teaching at Prairie Winds Middle School in Mankato and is currently working on his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Minnesota State University, Mankato. He has been offered a position to teach Physical Education at Eagle View Elementary where he will begin teaching in the 2017-2018 school year.
Frankie McIntyre was offered, and accepted, the Head Dance Team coaching position for the 2017-2018 season pending school board approval. Frankie is a graduate of Bethlehem Academy in Faribault, Minnesota and is currently pursuing her associate degree (RN) in nursing. She has been a part of the Faribault Emeralds Dance Team coaching staff for the past three seasons, and spent the last two years working strictly with the varsity program. While a part of the varsity coaching staff, she made four Minnesota State Tournament appearances: two in the high kick precision category with second and third place finishes, and two appearances in the Jazz category with fourth and fifth place finishes.
Along with her commitment to the Faribault program, Frankie was also the New Prague Dance Team coach for the 2016 fall performance season. She is currently in her second year with Ovations Dance Company in New Prague as an instructor for competitive groups in high kick, hip hop, and jazz. Frankie is replacing Christine Plambeck, who started the program in 2009.
Jake Norby has been offered and has accepted the Head Football Coach position at New Prague High School for the 2017 season pending board approval. Norby is a native of White Bear Lake, Minnesota where he graduated from White Bear Lake Area High School in 1999. At White Bear Lake, Norby played football and ran Track & Field for the Bears on conference, section, and state tournament teams; he was a captain for both the football and track teams. After graduating from White Bear Lake, Norby went on to study Physical Education & Health Education at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls where he also played defensive back on the football team for the Falcons. After graduating from UW-RF, Norby took his first teaching/coaching position at Cary High school in Cary, NC where he was a physical education teacher and defensive coordinator for two seasons. After two years, Norby returned home to teach and coach at his alma mater where he coached linebackers and defensive backs along with being a co-special teams coordinator. While at White Bear Lake, Norby decided to pursue a masters in Special Education and accepted a position at New Prague High School as a Special Education teacher and an Assistant Football Coach.
Norby has been a varsity football assistant for the past seven seasons and has been the offensive coordinator for the past four seasons at New Prague High School. During Norby’s tenure as an assistant coach at New Prague High School, he has worked with and coached the offensive line, the quarterbacks, the defensive line, the defensive backs, and has overseen various special teams units . He is in his seventh year as a Special Education Teacher at New Prague High School. In addition to teaching Special Education and coaching football, Norby is also an assistant Track & Field coach where he specifically works with the boys and girls pole vaulters and sprinters. Coach Norby resides in New Prague with his wife Melissa and their three children - Payton (7), Colton (6), and Teagan (3).
Gospel Kordah was offered, and has accepted, the Head Boys Soccer Coach position at New Prague High School for the 2017 season pending board approval. Gospel grew up in St. Louis Park, Minnesota where he graduated from St. Louis Park Senior High. At St. Louis Park, Gospel played Soccer, Football and participated in Track and Field. After graduating from St. Louis Park, Gospel earned a dual scholarship for Track and Soccer at Lincoln College (IL). After graduating from Lincoln, he furthered his education and athletic career at Augsburg College majoring in Psychology.
Gospel is an Equity Specialist for Shakopee Public Schools. He has been coaching high school Soccer and Track & Field for 4 years and has experience coaching both girls and boys. He is a former Head Coach for Community of Peace Academy and was most recently the JV/Varsity Assistant Girls Soccer Coach at Shakopee High School. Gospel resides in Brooklyn Park with his wife and two kids: Sofia-5 and Isabel-1.
Anna Borwege was offered, and accepted, the Head Girls Softball coaching position for the 2017 season pending board approval. Anna is a graduate of New Prague High School and the University of Minnnesota-Duluth where she was a 4-year member of the UMD Bulldog Tennis team. Anna is currently the Head Girls Tennis coach at New Prague High School and will continue in that capacity as well.
Anna has served as the Varsity Asst. Softball coach for the previous 4 seasons and was on the staff that included Tournament appearances in 2014 & 2016. She is currently teaching 6th Grade Science at New Prague Middle School and she and her husband, Colton, reside in New Prague. Anna is replacing Ashley Walker who accepted a teaching/coaching position in another district.
Tracy Torgerson was offered, and accepted, the Head Swimming and Diving Coach position at New Prague High School for the 2016 season pending board approval. Tracy is a special education teacher at Falcon Ridge Elementary School. She has coached at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School for 8 years and St. Cloud State University for 5 years before moving to New Prague. She has been the assistant coach for the New Prague Swim and Dive Team since 2014. Tracy is also a Minnesota State High School Swimming Official during the off season.
Tracy is a former Golden Gopher, where her team won back to back Big Ten Championships. She is a 9-Time Big Ten Finalist and NCAA Division I All-American. She was recently inducted into St. Cloud Tech High School Athletic Hall-of-Fame for her high school athletic career in swimming and diving, gymnastics, and track. Tracy lives in New Prague with her husband, Jeremy, and their two children: Lilly-8 and Jack-7.
Sean DuBé has been offered and has accepted the Head Baseball Coach position at New Prague High School for the 2017 season pending board approval. DuBé is a native of Hastings, Minnesota where he graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 2007. At Hastings, DuBé played football, hockey, and baseball for the Raiders on conference, section, and state tournament teams; he was a captain for both football and baseball. After graduating from Hastings, DuBé went on to study English and education at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota; he played baseball for the Oles on teams that won the MIAC Tournament and played in the Midwest Regional Championship. DuBé was a captain, an academic all-MIAC player, and an all-MIAC Sportsmanship Team award winner. He graduated from St. Olaf in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
DuBé has been a varsity baseball assistant and head 9th grade football coach for the past five years. He is in his sixth year as a Language Arts teacher and a Technology Integration Coach at New Prague High School. In addition to teaching English/Language Arts, DuBé presents on various education and leadership topics within the district. During the 2015-2016 school year, he was recognized for his exceptional teaching by becoming a semifinalist for Minnesota Teacher of the Year. He received his M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2015. In his free time, DuBé enjoys running, traveling, writing, and reading.
Taylor Ledwein (Gr. 12) won her 2nd straight MSHSL Class AAA championship by shooting a 143 over the 2-day tournament at Bunker Hills Golf Club. Taylor's closest competitor was 6 strokes back. In addition to her 2 MSHSL championships in 2015 & 2016, Taylor also earned a 6th place finish in 2014. The 2016 season marks the 4th straight year that a Trojan Girls Golfer has won the individual Class AAA State Championship (Kenzie Neisen in 2013 & 2014).
Dan Wagner was offered, and accepted, the Head Wrestling Coach position at New Prague High School for the 2016 season pending board approval. Dan is a physical education teacher at Falcon Ridge Elementary School. He was an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School for 2 years, the 9th-Grade Wrestling Coach at New Prague for 2 years, and has been the Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach at New Prague for the past 8 seasons. During this time, he has earned the Section 2AA "Assistant Wrestling Coach-of-the-Year" twice.
Dan is a former Trojan wrestler and furthered his education, and wrestling career, at St. Cloud State University. His wife, Terrye, is a sixth grade math teacher at New Prague Middle School and the Head Cheer Team advisor at New Prague High School. Dan is currently a member of the New Prague Volunteer Fire Department and the couple resides in New Prague with their three children: Audrey-8; Charlie-5; and Jack-1.
Megan Thompson was offered, and accepted, the Head Girls Soccer coaching position for the 2016 season pending board approval. Megan is a graduate of Eagan High School and Winona State University. She has served as the JV Girls Soccer coach for the previous 2 seasons and was at the Middle School level for 2 years prior to moving to the JV level within the girls soccer program. She has also coached Middle School Track for the past 2 seasons for the Trojans. Megan is currently teaching 8th Grade Math at New Prague Middle School. Megan and her husband, Jake, reside in Lakeville.
Ashley Walker was offered, and accepted, the Head Girls Softball coaching position for the 2016 season pending board approval. Ashley is a 2011 graduate of Shakopee High School where she was as a 2X All-State pitcher for the Sabers and the Shakopee High School "2011 Female Athlete of the Year". She then attended Winona State University where she was a 4-year member of the Winona State University Warrior Softball team. During her Warrior Softball career, she was All-Conference, All-Region, and was the National Div. II Pitcher of the Week. She was also honored as being the 2015 Winona State University "Female Athlete of the Year".
Ashley is currently student-teaching at Eagan High School and will graduate in December (2015) with a degree in K-12 Physical Education/Health Education with D.A.P.E. certification. Ashley is planning on substitute teaching starting in December and is looking forward to meeting the players, parents, and fans of New Prague Softball.
Anna (Witty) Borwege was offered, and accepted, the Head Girls Tennis coaching position for the 2015 season pending board approval. Anna is a graduate of New Prague High School and the University of Minnnesota-Duluth where she was a 4-year member of the UMD Bulldog Tennis team. Anna has served as the Asst. Girls Tennis Coach for the previous 3 years and is also a Varsity Asst. coach with the Trojan Softball program. Anna is currently teaching 6th Grade Science at New Prague Middle School. Anna and her husband, Colton, reside in New Prague.
NISCA (National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association) has selected their 2015 All-American Team. Senior Diver Brit Thomsen has become New Prague's 1st High School All-American in Swimming/Diving. Brit was chosen as one of the top 100 High School Divers in the United States. Congratulations, Brit!
Griffin Parriott (Gr. 12) was recently named to the 2015 ASICS High School Honorable-Mention All-American team at 145 lbs. Griffin has won 3 MSHSL Championships in Class AA and has won numerous USA Wrestling tournaments as well.

Matthew Schoenbauer (Gr. 12) was selected to receive the Ed Profofsky Most Valuable Player Award for Adapted Athletics. The award was presented at the Minnesota Adapted Athletic Association Board Meeting on May 27th at the Minnesota State High School League Offices in Brooklyn Center.
Matt led the trojans to the 2014 CI Floor Hockey State Championship and a 4th Place finish in the 2015 CI Floor Hockey Tournament. He holds numerous records for goals scored during the regular season, and state tournament play. Congratulations to Matt, and Coach Kriha, on this great honor!
